The Falcons picked up their first win of the season Friday afternoon with a 7 - 4 victory over the Bucs of Red Bank Regional High School. The Falcons took control of the game early, taking a 4 - 0 first period lead. They extended their lead to 5 - 0 before finally surrendering a goal to the Bucs just before the close of the second period. A few Falcon penalties early in the third period allowed the Bucs to gain some momentum, bringing them within 2 goals of the Falcons. But, a couple late third period goals by Brandon Domilici and Ed Stulak sealed the victory for the Falcons.
Scoring goals for the Falcons were: Sophomore Forward Stan Monak (3), Sophomore Forward Ed Stulak (2), Senior Forward Brandon Domilici and Freshman Forward Brandon Caccavale. Adding assists were: Brandon Caccavale (2), Junior Defenseman Nick Modugno (2), Stan Monak (2), Ed Stulak and Junior Forward Alex Van Driesen. Freshman Goaltender Roger Ezri stopped 24 of 28 shots in his first Varsity High School victory. Stan Monak posted 5 points on the afternoon, filling the scoresheet in a variety of ways. Monak finished the game with a goal, assist, power-play goal, power-play assist, short-handed goal, short-handed assist and the game winning goal.
The Falcons are back in action on Friday, December 11th as they host the Vikings of South Brunswick High School at 4:00 p.m. at Gold Coast Arena.
